Words by Designer Celeste Greene | This elopement shoot was inspired by an oil painting of the artist Emily Leonard. She speaks of her artistic process when she writes, “I'm interested in the experience of being in your body in a place. Rather than painting the tree in the yard, I want to paint what it feels like to stand in the yard and look at the tree.” With this perspective in mind, Celeste Greene approached the design of this elopement by what it feels like to look at Emily Leonard’s “Ana with Eyes Down”. This feeling was translated into the mood, story and color palette of what you will see in Sally Pinera’s photographs. The details of this historic venue are mimicked in the jewelry, florals, place settings and the bride and groom’s apparel all giving the viewer a sense of a timeless yet modern love. You will see that this elopement is classically romantic while still being current and approachable.
